Copper Fox Rye Blind Tasting: Bogey or Birdie?

Whiskey in the glass, golf on the mind—let’s get started… I circled back to Copper Fox Rye in this blind tasting—and let’s just say I walked away with a bogey. The nose had herbal smoke and wood, the taste screamed malted barley (even though it’s a rye), and the finish left me scratching my head with that applewood twist. Did I fail miserably on the blind? Absolutely—1 out of 4 correct. But that’s the beauty of blind tasting: sometimes you stripe it down the fairway, sometimes you lose one in the woods. Copper Fox has a cult following in Virginia, and I know a lot of friends who swear by it. For me, it landed at a 2.5 out of 5—Bogey territory. Give it a shot, then tell me where I went wrong. ➡️ Drop your ranking in our Pour Decisions system at golfcask.com. ➡️ Join the conversation in the 19th Hole Forum and let me know if I completely whiffed this tasting.
